I know I'm probably going to piss off the large majority of DA, but here it is...

I'm really tired of Anime. I'm tired of the subculture, I'm tired of all the obnoxious 'otaku' freshmen, I'm tired of fat little boys thinking they're ninjas, just like Naruto. I watch a show, now and again, I read manga sometimes. I don't want to sound like a hypocrite, so I fully admit to doing these things. I'm just not rabid about it. I don't have a boner for everything made in Japan, and I'm tired of people thinking that I do. Japan is just a country, anime is just a cheap style of cartooning.

Mostly what pisses me off, and admitting this will piss off so many people, is that Anime really isn't art. Not in my opinion. The guys who drew Naruto and Pokemon and whatever else aren't GODS OF ART. They're not the next Davincis, they're just Japanese guys who have a mild talent at cartooning.

And I'm really tired of Anime art on DA. I'm just plain sick of it. Oh look, there's an Anime picture. Funny, it looks just like every other Anime picture on this site. I'm sick and tired of people fawning over artists with no skill *cough*Snapesnogger*cough* and completely ignoring artists with real gifts and talents. Talents at drawing things realistically, or in their own style. Nobody makes it big copying the Anime style of everyone else, at least, nobody should. I think artists who have their own style should be lauded, not pushed from the front page by shitty drivel by more popular but less talented artists.

I know I can't draw worth shit, but that doesn't mean I don't have the ability to speak out on this subject. Artists, stop drawing Anime, take some classes, and learn to draw something remotely artistic, something original, something completely YOU.
